Obituary for Jennifer (Nichol) Lee-Koch

Jennifer (Nichol) Lee-Koch, 55, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side after a brave battle with ALS.

An infectious smile that made every stranger a friend, a contagious laughter that family and friends felt comforted by and a caring heart that eased every situation. Jenni was a gift to everyone who had the opportunity to know her. Heaven has received the world's best fisherwoman.

Born in Watsonville, CA, to John and Maryann Nichol, Jenni's childhood was filled with fun family trips to Santa Cruz, adventures with her brother John, sister Kathi and several cousins.

Jenni graduated in 1979, from Yuba City High School. She spent much of her adult life on camping trips teaching the best life lessons to her children, James Lee and K.T. Martin, and all the children who called her "Mom". She poured her life into First American Title & Farm Credit where she made life long friends that blessed her with visits during her illness. A special thank you to Katie Furr, her rock from day one of her diagnosis.

Jenni loved barbecuing and volunteering at several events for the Yuba-Sutter community. She laughed tremendously during her girls weekend get-aways and was filled with joy when spoiling her five grandchildren. Of all these moments she cherished most her weekend fishing trips on the river with her best friend, soulmate and husband of ten years Scott Koch.

Jenni is survived by her husband, Scott Koch; her children, James Lee and his wife Kara and three children Austin, Kimber and Joshua; K.T. Martin (Lee) and her husband Brandon and two children, Madeline and Elaina; Scott Koch II; her mother, Maryann Nichol; her siblings, John Nichol and Kathi Sylva (Nichol) and their spouses; her bonus sister, Kelly Parker (Day) and many amazing family and friends.

Jenni is preceded in death by her father John Edward Nichol.

Special Thank you to Apria HealthCare and Sutter North Hospice for their tremendous care.

Jenni's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, from 2pm - 6pm at the home of Scott Koch, 752 Abbott Way, Yuba City. Please park on Spiva Avenue.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family is asking for donations to be made to alsa.org/ Scroll down to "Walk to Defeat ALS" and find a team "Just 4 Jenni".
