Our History

Lakeside Colonial Chapel's building was built in 1936 by the Hutchinson & Merz families. Later to be joined by the Carnes family. The ownership history of this funeral home has been family owned and is currently owned by a family with a long history of funeral service. One of our resident directors is Ella Shishkin who brings years of experience and is actively involved in the community.

Lakeside Colonial Chapel is created to service the Yuba/Sutter Area along with Live Oak and Gridley communities.

Lakeside Colonial Chapel's commitment and goal is to provide the community with excellent service, providing people the care and guidance they need at an affordable price.

Lakeside Colonial Chapel offers a full range of services, including secular gatherings as well as ceremonies for all religious denominations. In addition, we offer cremation services, burial arrangements, and pre-arranged funeral planning.

Lakeside Colonial Chapel's staff have a dedication to affordable, personal service and to provide effective education and bereavement counseling for their client families and the community. We look forward to serving the area for many years to come.

In July of 2011, Lakeside Colonial Chapel's very own crematory was installed in the facility.
